Melany Sorrento

The Melany Store was founded by Comm. Antonino Di Maio in 1940 after several years of working experience gained in foreign trade. Although they were difficult years the Comm. Di Maio almost immediately bear fruits thanks to his professionalism in being able to identify the tastes of customers and international friendships and relationships that he entertains on several levels. He will also be awarded the title of "Master of Commerce".

The Melany Inlaid Wood Work shop is specialized in the sale of furniture and inlay wood objects, as music jewelery box, game table with roulette, tea cart, inlaid pictures, all specialties of Sorrento City, already known throughout the world, in the following years it's expanded range by marketing lace and embroidery strictly hand made on the territory. Over the years, with the progressive and increased inflow of tourists from all over the world and the range of products available for sale amounting to hundreds and hundreds of articles it was necessary to complement the historic store of Piazza Tasso with a larger store, so in the 60s was acquired the property in Via degli Aranci with an exhibition area of over 300 square meters. These are also the years in which the business expands, the products are marketed and shipped literally in every part of the world and the shop registered a daily average of about 700 visitors, becoming soon the destination and point of reference for all tourists, thanks to word of mouth of our Customers.

With changing tastes, fashions and new forms of tourism, the Company has made radical changes with the challenge of presenting new products in the Home Decoration & Collection becoming exclusivist of prestigious Italian brands such as ETRO MILANO and jESURUM VENEZIA and in the field of high fashion and baby accessories with brands like Burberry, Fendi, Boss, Start-Rite, Maclaren, Bugaboo and many others.

In the last few years has been opened a showroom on the island of Capri and expanded the business range with extra hotel business with The Melany Apartment, old fashion luxury apartment located in the main square of Sorrento, Torquato Tasso, for exclusive holidays in Sorrento.
